The left column contains a range of tartans arranged by alphabetic groups and was prepared  to view the different tartans by clicking on their letter designations and then viewing them by pulling down the vertical slide in the center column.

The right hand column loads faster, and is designed for viewing the tartans individually, again by clicking on the name of the tartan of interest, and then viewing the tartan in the center column.

We would like to discuss some of the problems we have encountered with the acquisition of tartan.

To wit:

Variations in manufacture can be extreme, as witness these two MacLeod of Lewis tartans by different manufacturers

Both are, technically, MacLeod of Lewis, but, as you can see there are obvious differences. Therefore, if you are buying a Kiltie collar™, and plan on getting a Kiltie lead™, and/or, a Kiltie Kerchief™ subsequently, please keep in mind that there are severe variations, and we cannot assure an exact match if you buy components at different times.

Another problem is apparent in these two MacPherson swatches.

One of the most striking features about MacPherson is its characteristic electric blue which is nonexistent in the one on the right, yet it was sold to us as MacPherson.

The reasons for mentioning these problems are several along with the one of matching our products acquired at different times.

We are manufacturers of all of the products we sell. Many of these are unique throughout the world to our manufacture. As such, we are very particular as to our selection of suppliers, and the qualities of the tartan we purchase.

We have been told we are the largest manufacturers of Scottish goods out side of Scotland. We carry more tartan in stock than anyone in the Western Hemisphere.

All of the tartan shown on our tartan pages are actual scans of the physical tartan swatches, of the tartan in our stocks, and not pictorial, artistic, graphical representations, or scans of tartans supplied by the manufacturers.

With few exceptions, all are Scottish woolens of varying weights, and grades. We add tartan as demand requires.

We will add a tartan if you are ordering two sets, i.e., two collars, and two leads. We will add tartan if you are ordering a Ladies Tartan Sporran. We add tartan after receiving at least a half a dozen distinct, and separate inquiries. Specially woven tartans can be acquired by ordering as little as 12 meters, however, the price increases substantially. Less expensive special weaves can be obtained by procuring 30 meters

These are not hard and fast rules and do not apply to custom, personal, private, corporate, royal, or restricted tartans. In those respects we can, and do, manufacture products for you when you furnish the tartan.

We can, and do, design, and have manufactured custom tartans. Examples of these are
